Tim and Stephany discovered the BVI in 2000 when they experienced their very first crewed charter. It was a special trip, as one of their stops included the Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda where they tied the knot. The experience of sailing on the islands was completely intoxicating. It changed the course of their lives, and a 10 year plan was hatched! They made it a goal to buy a boat and come back to sail the beautiful Caribbean islands! From then, all vacations were spent sailing the Caribbean waters and summers were spent sailing on Lake Michigan in their home town of Chicago. In the autumn of 2013, they found their catamaran in Rhode Island and sailed her down to the Caribbean where they spent a year upgrading her systems and exploring the islands as far south as Grenada. They are happy to welcome you on board and share the beautiful Caribbean thru their eyes, on s/v Endless Pleasure!
Tim Mauer – Captain
I was born in Wisconsin and grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan. Summers where short, so I took full advantage of living on the water canoeing, kayaking, and learning to sail Hobie Cats on the local rivers and lakes. Upon graduating from high school, I attended Saint Louis University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. I paid my way through college working as a phlebotomist and a lab technician.
Shortly after graduation, I was presented with an opportunity that changed the direction of my career. I left the medical field, to run events for an experiential marketing company. I had the opportunity to work with Fortune 100 companies developing integrated marketing programs that cut through the competitive clutter. Throughout the years I moved up the ranks, and eventually became the CEO of Relay Worldwide, a Publicis Groupe company, managing offices on three different continents. I helped build a full-service experiential and sponsorship agency focusing on innovation and building proprietary information management systems.
After 25 years in the the corporate world, I happily adjusted my course and now live at a much slower pace on a sailing catamaran with Steph, my wife and first mate of 18 years.
Stephany Mauer – First Mate/Chef
My childhood years were spent growing up on shores of Brasil, Canary Islands, and the US and the UK. It was on the ocean and it’s beaches where I learned to swim, make new friends, learn new languages, and eventually sail.
My family settled down in Texas, where I finished high school, and attended college. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, I got the most awesome job at an event marketing company designing and implementing promotions and traveling the country. The job was demanding, but allowed me to use both my operational and creative skills. It reignited my desire to travel even more and see the world. I met my husband, Tim, during that timeframe, and was fortunate he had the same desire for adventure!
Sailing has afforded us the opportunity to travel slowly and really take in our surroundings. My favorite thing do on shore is try local food and shop for fresh ingredients. This ends up influencing my cuisine in tasty, interesting ways!
Because of the diversity of my upbringing, I grew up loving different cultures, food, music, and experiences. I enjoy hosting people from all over the world, and sharing stories over a great meal.
I am proficient in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and English.
